ACCIONA has signed an agreement with the technology company Halotech Digital Services to improve worker health and safety conditions across its projects through the implementation of real-time heat stress monitoring technology.
The company will progressively incorporate the Halo III device — a smart wristband — into the personal protective equipment (PPE) used on its projects. This device monitors relevant data about both the work environment and the worker, and issues real-time alerts in the event of an emergency.
Artificial intelligence to anticipate risks
ACCIONA will integrate the Halotech AI platform into its Intelligent Health and Safety Control Center in Madrid. This platform uses artificial intelligence to generate early warnings related to factors such as air quality, humidity, ambient temperature and heat stress. This information will make it possible to anticipate potential risk situations and take operational decisions that improve workers’ comfort and safety.
Proven results in pilot projects
The agreement was signed after both companies carried out several pilot projects in Spain, implementing Halotech’s solutions across different ACCIONA business lines. These trials included monitoring factors such as heat stress and air quality, as well as additional functionalities such as fall detection and emergency management.
The results showed a significant improvement in risk management, increased visibility of working conditions and a high level of acceptance of the devices among employees.
