Linear infrastructures face significant operational and maintenance challenges due to their large extent, geographical dispersion, and difficult access. Vegetation management is a critical factor in ensuring safety and operability and still relies heavily on on-site inspections, which involve high costs and limited capacity for anticipation. During these inspections, other relevant incidents can also be identified, such as slope damage, landslides, or structural anomalies, whose early detection is key to reducing risks and optimising decision-making.

The application of digital solutions and advanced technologies makes it possible to evolve towards more predictive and efficient management, anticipating vegetation growth and detecting relevant incidents early that affect maintenance and decision-making.

To identify innovative and integrated solutions that improve the management of these linear assets, prioritising vegetation control (including detection and growth status, treatment, and optimisation of the timing of interventions) and, in a complementary way, the identification of other relevant events related to infrastructure operation and maintenance.
