ACCIONA will be present at Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) from 18 to 22 June, a global forum for the co-creation of innovative water solutions.

The congress brings together government representatives, utilities, industry and academia from different sectors to share best practices, programs, the latest technologies, and opportunities in water and climate action. The event focuses on innovation and the search for urban water management solutions for municipal and industrial users. Other emerging topics in the sector will also be addressed, such as coastal protection, decarbonization and digitalization, with an emphasis on their application in Asia.

Technical presentations on innovation

During the congress, Javier Ruiz, ACCIONA’s Water Business Director in the Philippines, will present the company’s capabilities and experience in Southeast Asia. In addition, Olga Ferrer, Head of RDI in Desalination at ACCIONA, will present—together with Hydranautics—a poster on an innovative remineralization process capable of consistently keeping effluent turbidity very low.

Throughout SIWW, ACCIONA will host a stand to showcase its activities and present the wastewater treatment, drinking water and desalination plants it has developed or is currently delivering in Southeast Asia.

Projects in Asia-Pacific

ACCIONA currently has several water projects in Southeast Asia, such as the Tseung Kwan O desalination plant in Hong Kong, the East Bay water treatment plant in the Philippines, and the Nhieu Loc Thi Nghe wastewater treatment plant in Vietnam.

In Australia, the company was recently awarded the Alkimos desalination plant in Perth, and it currently operates facilities such as the Adelaide desalination plant, with a capacity of 300,000 m³/day, and the Mundaring drinking water treatment plant, which supplies more than 100,000 residents.
