ACCIONA has reaffirmed its commitment to open innovation by actively participating in the EIC Multi-Corporate Day, a strategic event organized by the European Innovation Council (EIC) as part of South Summit 2025 in Madrid.
This initiative brought together leading companies in the construction and infrastructure sector — ACCIONA, Ferrovial, ACS, Sacyr and Vinci — with 18 high-potential startups backed by the EIC and originating from 10 different countries. The goal was clear: to accelerate the adoption of disruptive solutions to the sector’s most urgent challenges.
From Pitch to Business Agreement
The EIC carefully selected the startups, which were coached and advised to align their technological proposals with the specific innovation priorities of the host corporations.
The day was structured around two key phases to maximize impact:
- Pitching Sessions: The startups presented their solutions in person, addressing areas that are critical to the future of infrastructure and construction, such as sustainability, process digitalization and operational efficiency.
- One-on-One Meetings: The main focus was on tailored individual meetings. This format allowed ACCIONA’s innovation teams to explore the proposals of selected startups in depth, aiming to generate concrete business outcomes and unlock potential pilot projects or strategic partnerships.
Participation in this type of forum highlights ACCIONA’s strategy of actively integrating external talent and technology into its value chain. This collaborative approach is essential to drive the transition toward more sustainable, resilient and efficient infrastructure, reinforcing ACCIONA’s position as a key driver of digital transformation at the global level.
