ACCIONA, a global company that develops and builds sustainable infrastructure solutions, has been voted one of the most innovative engineering companies of 2024, according to the 5th edition of INOVAINFRA. The award, which is held annually by O Empreiteiro magazine, was granted during a ceremony that took place last night (9) at the Centro Brasileiro Britânico (CBB) in São Paulo.
According to the publication, ACCIONA was chosen by the independent jury for its article on Automated Geotechnical Monitoring in Shield Excavation (TBM), which looked at the innovative excavation techniques being used to drill the tunnels that will form part of Line 6-Orange of the metro, under construction by the company in São Paulo. The work was also presented during the ceremony by the team responsible for the Line 6-Orange metro project.
Present at the awards ceremony were Lucio Matteucci, Project Director, Andrea Scremin, Measurement Manager, and Carlos Peña, Technical Room Manager. In the presentation, they explained the application of an automated monitoring system for buildings on the SESC – Perdizes – PUC stretch, as a complement to the traditional manual instrumentation used in the São Paulo metro works, which allows 24/7 monitoring of unique structures and the data is monitored via the website.
INOVAINFRA recognises innovative actions applied on construction sites and carried out by engineering companies that embrace the pioneering spirit of technology. The aim of the award is to valorise the achievements of these companies, helping to transform infrastructure and highlighting achievements that broaden the horizons of engineering and explore new frontiers in the application of revolutionary technologies.
