For the third consecutive year, ACCIONA has been recognized with the “Open Innovation Challengers” award by startups across the globe for its commitment to open innovation.

Startups from around the world have nominated the most active corporations in open innovation for the Corporate Startup Stars Awards, the prestigious annual awards sponsored by the European Comission’s Startup Europe Partnership. This year, participating startups were not only European. The nomination process was global, as a result of the agreement between Mind the Bridge and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), a business organization representing companies from all sectors in over 100 countries across the world.

ACCIONA has received recognition through the Open Innovation Challengers award. It rewards big corporations that support the collaboration with startups during the Corporate Startup Stars Awards 2020 ceremony, held on December 15.

This recognition comes from startups themselves; they nominate corporations that are most open to collaborate in an active and responsive way. Afterwards, a panel of international experts in entrepreneurship and corporate venturing, analyses aspects such as innovation strategy, structure, processes and culture as well as activities and initiatives pushed by the company and the results obtained.

This award highlights ACCIONA’s commitment to open innovation under the I’MNOVATION framework, the company´s open innovation platform. For the last three years, over 1000 startups across the globe have presented technological solutions and 40 have developed pilot projects with the company in its Spanish and Latam editions. Two out of three have signed a commercial agreement after the end of the project with the related business units in ACCIONA.
