ACCIONA works with Startup Olé and Conserjería de Educación de Castilla y León in Spain in the initiative to tackle the effects of the COVID-19 disease. The projects will be analysed in terms of their feasibility, their technological level and their degree of innovation. After their evaluation, they will be invited to join in the sixth edition of Startup OLÉ 2020.

Consejería de Educación de la Comunidad de Castilla y León from Spain and startup OLÉ, in collaboration with ACCIONA, have launched the global initiative #InnovacionFrentealVirus, aimed to tackle the challenges of COVID-19.

The innovative and technological platform and community have been created to alleviate the effects of the current situation. #InnovationFrentealVirus is aimed at universities, research groups, spin-offs, innovators, startups, scale-ups, corporations, investors, innovative SMEs, public institutions, associations, media, as well as all entities that want to collaborate by forming a multidisciplinary community to address the effects of COVID-19 disease.

#InnovacionFrentealVirus encourage the participation of projects and ideas that provide value and experts in the scientific, technical, business, communication and legal areas, which will advise the teams so that they can develop innovative projects that help to confront the effects of COVID-19.

The main objective is that the experts will have video calls in a period of between one week and 10 days with the members of the teams to help them improve through advice. Once this period is over, the experts will proceed to the evaluation of the projects analysing the viability, the technological and innovation degree, the added value and the communication degree of the project, as well as the team that forms it.

The registration period for projects and experts has opened on April 7th.

After the mentoring sessions, 24 winning projects associated with the different categories and modalities will be selected.

These projects will have a direct pass to the sixth edition of Startup OLÉ 2020, which will allow them to connect with investors, corporations, institutions, and the media, to expand their possibilities of obtaining investment, increasing the number of clients and media visibility. As part of the award, they will be provided with visibility in the different media that collaborate with the initiative. All participating companies will also be awarded 5000 euros in AWS credits.
